ABC anchorman Richard Morecroft was forced to cancel his Newcastle visit yesterday due to a death in the family.

Morecroft, new author of Twenty Years from the Waist Up ? Tales of a TV News Anchor, was to make a special appearance at the Holiday Inn Esplanade yesterday for the Australian Red Cross Bookmark series.

Refunds are available by phoning the Red Cross on 4926-3877 or the tickets can be used for the next Bookmark event.
